2017 Microsoft Updates For Mac Office 2011
Collaborate for free with online versions of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote. Save documents, spreadsheets, and presentations online, in OneDrive. A change to the previous version of Microsoft's AutoUpdate utility caused updates to break in Office 2011 for OS X. A fix is ready for download. AutoUpdate 3.0.5 was installed with the last Office update a few days ago. Microsoft has backed off from the mess it made with a new version of AutoUpdate you can download now. The problem only happens if you're using both the Office 2016.
This isn’t so much to do with Microsoft’s rivalry with Apple, but rather it seems that Microsoft has yet to get around to testing their Office suite of apps on the latest macOS update, which means that there is a chance that some of the Office apps might not work properly after users update to macOS High Sierra.
How To Update Office For Mac
According to Microsoft’s support page, “Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Lync have not been tested on macOS 10.13 High Sierra, and no formal support for this configuration will be provided.” Note that this only seems to apply to the 2011 version of Office for Mac, so if you are running a newer version like Office 2016 then you should be fine.
However Microsoft does mention that there could be some issues, such as apps unexpectedly quitting. “Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote will install and run on 10.13. Not all Office functionality may be available, and you may encounter stability problems where apps unexpectedly quit.”

I have Office for Mac 2011. Microsoft: “...Office for Mac 2011 will no longer be supported after October 10, 2017. This means that if you have a one-time purchase of an older version of Office or an existing Office 365 subscription, you'll want to think about upgrading to Office 2016.”
I have thousands of Word 2011 documents. If I keep Office for Mac 2011, am I in danger of having them all become corrupt? I’ve been reading lots of complaints hate Office 2016 - takes up lots of hard drive space, slow, etc. Suggestions? Thanks.
